CBS Sports Radio's On-Air Talent Predicts 2018 College Football Playoff

Some of CBS Sports Radio's on-air talent took a stab at this season's College Football Playoff – and no one has Alabama winning it all

October 30, 2018 - 7:45 am

With the college football season finally upon us, CBS Sports Radio’s on-air talent took a stab at this year’s playoff.

The biggest surprise? No one has Alabama winning the national title.

Staff picks below:

Damon Amendolara, host of The D.A. Show

1) Clemson
2) Penn State
3) Alabama
4) Wisconsin

National Championship: Clemson over Penn State

The Tigers' epic defensive line and Kelly Bryant's experience carries the team to another ACC championship and then finishes the job it could not last year in the CFP. The Big Ten is the league of legends this year as Wisconsin and Penn State break through for two bids into the CFB. But the Nittany Lions fall just short in the title game.

Scott Ferrall, host of Ferrall on the Bench

1) Auburn
2) Miami
3) Washington
4) Ohio State

National Championship: Miami over Ohio State

Miami gets revenge for 2002 when they got screwed by the refs and beats Ohio State for its sixth national championship. Urban Meyer resigns after blaming himself for the Buckeyes getting spanked by the turnover chain gang from the U!

Marc Malusis, co-host of Taz & The Moose

1) Alabama
2) Clemson
3) Ohio State
4) Oklahoma

National Championship: Clemson over Alabama

Head Coach Dabo Swinney has built a national power at Clemson. Love the defense powered by a defensive line that is loaded with future first-round picks like Dexter Lawrence, Christian Wilkins, Austin Bryant and Clelin Ferrell. Both quarterbacks – Kelly Bryant and Trevor Lawrence – will play and will make use of a largely unproven yet talented receiving corps, and look out for Travis Etienne at running back, who will only get better off of last year’s experience. Clemson wins its second national championship in three years.

Taz, co-host of Taz & The Moose

1) Clemson
2) Wisconsin
3) Alabama
4) Washington

National Championship: Clemson over Wisconsin

It’s well-documented that football is won and lost in the pit. Clemson has the best defensive line in the game, while Wisconsin has the best offensive line in the game. The Tigers have an awesome defense and two awesome quarterbacks in Kelly Bryant and true freshman Trevor Lawrence. At the end of the day, I think it’s too much for Wisconsin. Clemson wins the national championship.
