Actor Michael Kelly dropped by CBS Sports Radio to discuss House of Cards, All Square, and the Atlanta Braves, among other topics.

Kelly, who grew up in Lawrenceville, Georgia, is a diehard Braves fans. The Braves won 90 games – and the NL East – this season before falling to the Dodgers in the NLDS. They dropped the first two games in Los Angeles – failing to score a run in the process – before winning Game 3 in Atlanta, 6-5.

At that point, Kelly had hope – at least a little.

“I think as a fan you always have hope,” Kelly said on Ferrall on the Bench. “But in all honesty, I kind of looked at this like this is a year ahead of schedule. When we won the division, I was ecstatic. Anything happens from here on out is icing on the cake.”

The Braves lost Game 4, 6-2.

Kelly is also a diehard Falcons fan, but Atlanta (1-4) has dropped three straight. The Super Bowl is in Atlanta this season, and while the Falcons likely won’t be there, Kelly might.

“I might (go) because it’s in Atlanta. It depends on who’s in it,” he said. “If the Patriots are in, I’m not going. No desire to see them play football games. Obviously after the Super Bowl we lost, I’ll never be over that, but even before that, I was (sick of the Patriots). I don’t think we’ll ever see another quarterback-coach combination like the two of them (Tom Brady and Bill Belichick). It’s really tough to beat that.”

Kelly also discussed House of Cards and his new movie, All Square, in which he plays a bookie who begins taking bets on little league games.

“If you’ve ever put a dime on a game, this movie’s for you,” he said. “If you got kids in little league, this movie’s for you. If you’re a fan of The Bad News Bears – with sort of a Bad Santa sense of humor – it’s got something for everybody. It’s a lot of fun.”
